Mother’s Day – May 8, 2015

That ‘special’ day of fun with our moms

The idea for Mother’s day activity was born in October of 2014 when I got a beautiful apron as a gift. So, as early as the beginning of the year, the aprons were ordered and the excitement began. The children started cutting out pieces of fabric in to shapes that they would sew with their mommies on the apron.

Just a few days before the event, the children baked cookies and were ready to serve their wonderful moms who would come to the event without a clue of what was going to happen. On May 8th, the they set up tables with trays consisting of buttons and shapes, scissors, needles and thread. The party began with the children singing, leaving some mothers in tears. The children served the cookies they baked and helped their mommies rediscover their love for sewing.

Here are some memorable pictures from our Mother’s Day event.
